Dear Mr. Ippolito:
On December 29, 1978, Carolina Power & Light Company submitted a letter to you requesting an extension from February 13, 1979, to April 15, 1979, for the submittal of Radiological Effluent Technical Specifications.
Mr. A. Schwencer's letter of January 12, 1979, denied our request for exten-sion and requested that we make at least a partial submittal on February 13, 1979, with the balance of the material to be submitted as soon af ter that as we could provide it.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the earliest that Carolina Power & Light Company will be able to make a partial submittal is March 12, 1979. The balance of the material will be submitted as soon as available after that. This delay is due to time required to obtain the re-quired information from our consultants, review it, and submit it to you.
Our staff is expediting the preparation of this material, but due to the substantial work involved, this delay is unavoidable.
Should you wish to discuss this matter in any further detail, please do not hesitate to contact our staff.
