M N 3 1 1979 DOCKET N05. 50-277 50-278 Philadelphia Electric Company ATTN:
Edward G. Bauer, Jr., Esquire Vice President and General Counsel 2301 Market Street Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19101 Gentlemen:
This office has received a copy of your January 12, 1979 application for amendment to Facility License Nos. DPR-44 and DPR-56 which you filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Division of Operating Reactors for review and approval.
The application relates to your proposed changes in the Peach Bottom Units 2 and 3 Technical Specifica-tions relating snubbers, high pressure service water (HPSW) pumps and clarification of language on audits.
The application was accompanied by fees totalling $1,600 for one each of amendment fee Classes II and I.
We have determined from our preliminary review that the requested action falls in amendment fee Classes III and I (totalling $4,400) because the reduction in discharge pressure for the HPSW pumps involves consideration of a single safety issue for Unit No. 2 and a duplicate amendment has been requested for Unit No. 3.
Therefore, you should promptly forward the additional $2,800 to this office.
If after the final evaluation of your application is completed it is determined that it was incorrectly classified, you will be refunded any over-charges or billed for any additional amount due.
If we can be of assistance to you, call 301/492-7225.
Sincerely, f
