Gentlemen:
This letter is in response to the Licensing Board's order of December 5,1978 requesting a report on the status of Supplement No. 2 to the SER. The open item on meteorology identified in our August 31, 1978 letter should be completely resolved withirt a month. The second open item (status of generic safety questions) will require between one and two months for completion.
Accordingly, we presently project issuance of the Supplement in January or February 1979.
The ACRS has, however, requested that we go back to it for a final review prior to taking any licensing action. A further Supplement responding to any issues raised by the ACRS may, therefore, be necessary.
As requested in your December 5, 1978 order, I will update this status report on a monthly basis.
Sincerely, h
Ul h.
