The Omaha Public Power District received Amendment No. 40 to Operating License DPR 40, which added a license condition relating to the completion of facility modifications for fire protection as specified in the Commission's Safety Evaluation Report (SER). This letter is to inform the Commission that the District will be unable to meet the implementation date of December,1978, specified for battery room ventilation modifications as described in Sections 3.1.11 and 4.4.4 of the SER.
Specifically, the air flow monitors for each of the ventilation systems will not be delivered to the District until mid-January, ap-proximately one month later than the original delivery date specified by the vendor.
Installation of the monitors is expected to take ap-proximately two weeks; therefore, the system is anticipated to be operable by February 1, 1979 Modifications to exhaust fans and duct work have been completed on schedule.
It should be noted that the District has made a good faith effort to meet the schedule in the SER and that the problems encountered are beyond our control. Should further significant delays be encountered, the Commission will be promptly notified.
