Dear Mr. Romano:
This letter responds to concerns raised in your letters of April 12, "ay 14, and June 10, 1979, with regard to various matters related to the Philadelphia Electric Company's Limerick Nuclear Generating Station.
In your letter of April 12,1979, you requested that the Comission investigate whether blasting at a quarry near the Limerick site has a deleterious effect on the site.
We will be investigating this matter; the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) will be our consultant. We are requesting that USGS complete its review by December 31, 1979. We will provide you with copies of our correspondence, if any, with PECO on this matter and summaries of meetings or site visits, as well as a copy of the final report from USGS on this matter.
In your letters of May 14 and June 10, 1979, you also recuested that we include in cur investigation certain other matters related to the ccr.structi n of the Lir,erick f acility. We have reviewed the information that you have presented and, for the reasons stated in the enclosed Director's Decision, determined not to further investigate the matters raised in your May 14th and June 10th Ictters.
A copy of the decision will be placed in the Comission's Public Document Room
