RE: Comments on the Draft Supplement to the Final Environmental Statement for Pilgrim Unit 2 (NUREG-0530)
Dear Barry:
This morning I received your letter of April 6, 1979 to the Licensing Board regarding the Staff's proposed hearing schedule and the agreement we had reached with respect to the Commonwealth's request for an extension of time within which to comment on the Draft Supplement. I am writing to clarify my understanding of that agreement.
In my conversations with Dino Scalletti last week, Mr.
Scalletti stated that the Staff was committed to a schedule of working on its responses to comments during the week of April 9th in order to meet a deadline of April 20th for publication of the final supplement. Mr. Scalletti indicated that if he received the Commonwealth's draft comments by Friday, April 6, 1979, and our final comments by early this week, the Staff would have sufficient time to respond to and publish the comments in the final supplement.
Accordingly, we did deliver our draft comments to you on April 6, 1978, and as promised in our cover memorandum to Mr.
Sca11etti, delivered the final comments to the Staff on April 10, 1979. On Tuesday, April 10, 1979, I spoke with Mr.
Scalletti to confirm the place and time for delivery of the final comments. We did receive confirmation from our courier service that the final comments were timely delivered to Mr.
Scalletti's office. All parties of record were served with copies of the final comments on April 10, 1979.
