Dear Mr. Groce:
By letter dated August 14 and December 20, 1978, you provided infomation relative to certain of the asterisked items of Section 3 of the Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report (SER) for the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station (see Amendment No. 43 of January 13,1979). This infomation dealt with the detailed means for implementing certain of the modifications listed in the SER for Amandment No. 43.
The purpose of this letter is to advise you that we have reviewed and found acceptable your analysis or means for implementing the following modifications:
SER Section Modification 3.1.3 Hose Stations Calculations on flow tests will be made to verify that sufficient pressure can be provided for the most hydraulically remote hose stations.
3.1. 5 Foam Suppression An automatic foam suppression system Systems will be provided to protect the recirculation pump motor generator sets in the reactor building.
3.1.13 Portaole Ventila-Portable ventilation equipment will tion Equipment be provided such that smoke can be vented from enclosed areas to permit access for manual fire fighting.
