Dear Mr. Beyd:

In compliance with your request for additional financial information, enclosed herewith is a document entitled " Sources of Funds for System-Wide Construction Expenditures During Period of Construction of Subject Nuclear Plant" for applicant, Nevada Power Company, together with a list of assumptions made therein.

Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. Section 2.790 (1975), Nevada Power Company hereby requests that the above document and the accompanying assumptions be exempt from public disclosure and not be made available for inspection and copying in the NRC Public Document Room. This request for non-disclosure is made for the following reasons, which Nevada Power Company believes to be compelling:

The document contains proprietary financial data.

(2)

The data contained therein are of a type which has customarily been maintained in confidence by Nevada Power Company because public dissemination thereof could lead to mistaken and inaccurate conclusions concerning the future financial performance of Nevada Power Company, which is a NYSE listed company.

(3)

Public disclosure of the data contained therein would cause substantial harm to the competitive position of Nevada Power Company in future financial transactions because they reflect many indicia of performance of Nevada Power Company which are necessary goals rather than assumed fact, and if disseminated would give rise to expectations in the financial community which if not realized might jeopardize Nevada Power Company's ability to raise necessary investment capital.

Nevada Power Company has not heretofore prepared such financial forecasts for periods of more than five years, O

Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. Section 2.790(c), Nevada Power Company requests notice and the opportunity to withdraw the above document in the event this request for non-disclosure is denied.

Section 2.790(b) (1) requires a person seeking non-disclosure to incorporate in a separate paper any part of the data sought to be withheld.

In keeping with the intent of this requirement, a separate su= mary of non-proprietary financial data is also enclosed.
