Attention: Mr. James G. Keppler, Director, Region III subject: Part 21 Report Colt Industries-Fairbanks Horse Engine Division Emergency Diesel Generators Possible Exhaust Rocker Ann Defect Written Report Dated September 26, 1978 Further Information-Northeast Utilities Millstone Unit 3 Gentlemen:
We have completed our inspection of the exhaust rocker arms of the two PC-2 generator sets for Millstone Unit 3 which have been in storage at our Beloit, Wisconsin plant.
All exhaust rocker ams were removed from the engines and non-destructively examined. Those with stress risers exceeding current criteria were reworked to within acceptance criteria or replaced.
The units are free of the reported potential defect.
