7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NOS. 50-354 AND 50-355 fl0TICE OF AVAILABILITY OF SECOND SUPPLEMENTARY INITIAL DECISIGN OF THE ATOMIC SAFETY AND LICENSING BOARD AND DECISION OF ATOMIC SAFETY AND LICENSING APPEAL BOARD FOR THE HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission's regulations in Section Sl.52(b) (3) of 10 CFR Part 51, notice is hereby given that a Second Supplementary Initial Decision by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board, dated April 13,1978, and a Decision of the Atomic Safety and Licensir.g Appeal Board, dated January 12, 1979 have been issued.
Copies of both documents are available for inspection by the public in the Commission's Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.,
and in the Salem Free Library, 112 West Broadway, Salem, New Jersey.
Copies are also available at the State Clearinghouse, Bureau of State and Regional Planning, Department of Community Affairs, 329 West State Street, Trenton, New Jersey. The Final Environmental Statement issued February 14, 1974 is also available at these locations.
Based on the record developed in the public hearing in the above captioned matter, the Decision of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board and the Second Supplementary Initial Decision of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board modified in certain aspects the contents of the Final Environmental Statement prepared by the Commission's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation dated February 1974 relating to the construction of the Hope Creek Generating Station.

r Pursuant to the provisions of Section 51.52(b)(3) of 10 CFR Part 51, the Final Environmental Statement is deemed modified by the Licensing Board and Appeal Board issuances to show that the flammable cloud accident is so unlikely that its environmental impact need not be considered. As required by Section 51.52(b)(3) of 10 CFR Part 51, copies of the Decision by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board and copies of the Second Supple-mentary Initial Decision by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board have been transmitted to the Environmental Protection Agency and other interested agencies and persons in accordance with Section 51.26(c) of 10 CFR Part 51.
Single copies of the Second Supplementary Initial Decision by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board and the Decision by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board may be obtained by writing the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, D. C., 20555, Attention: Director, Division of Site Safety and Environmental Analysis.
