NRC Licenses:
By-Product Material License No. 02-09090-01 and 02-09090-02, and Special Nuclear Material License SNM-1448 issued to the US Army Electronic Proving Ground, Ft Huachuca, Arizona.
The US Army Electronic Proving Ground (USAEPG} has no facilities for 2.the manufacture or fabrication of shipping containers to meet the require-ments of 10 CFR, Part 71.

The licenses in ref lb limit the number of radioactive sources posses-ed by USAEPG (currently 5 sealed sources on hand). These sources are re-tained by USAEPG for calibration, test and evaluation or as specified by the licenses and are not shipped until at least one half-life has elapsed.
When exchange of sources is required, the services of a vendor are obtain-ed to bring a fresh source in his container and install it after removal of the decayed source, which is transported by the vendor in his container.
The frequency of such exchanges is not more often than one in five years.
