NRC IE Infonnation Notice No. 79-23 Emergency Diesel Generator Lube Oil Cooler

Dear Sir:

We have been informed that there has been an Electro Motive Division of General Motors lube oil cooler failure at the Portland General Electric Trojan #1 Plant in Rainier, Oregon.

The nature of the failure is similar to that reported in the NRC IE Information Notice No. 79-23. We have requested a section of the failed core be returned to General Motors for analysis.
