(1) Letter, A Schwencer (NRC) to L 0 Mayer (NSP) dated October 29, 1979 The referenced letter requested NSP review the present Prairie Island Technical Specifications to ensure that control rods are required to be maintained + 12 steps indicated and that the rod position indication system is verified to be accurate to within 12 steps.
We have reviewed the relevant technical specifications and intend to submit a license amendment request by January 15, 1980. This projected submittal date will allow sdequate time for preparation of the specification change and revicw by the onsite and offsite review committees.
