D. Ross In our letter to you dated February 5,1969, we requested information on the Three Mile Island Unit No. 1 reactor building fan coolers as soon as it is avail.able. We have reviewed your report entitled Summary of Factory Tests, Reactor Building Fan Assemblies" submitted to us on May 27, 1969. There is insufficient information in that report to permit us to complete our evaluation of the adequacy of the design. You state in your letter of May 9,1969, which transmitted the subject report that further reports will be issued. We need information on the tests arJ evaluations of:
(1) Emergency Coolir.g Coil, (2) Cooler Ilousing, and (3) Motor and Motor Components.
For each test there should be an analysis of the applicability of data cbtained in the test environment in assessing the performance of the equipment in the postulated accident environment.
In cases where the complete accident environment cannot be simulated ese of the scale-up factors or non-synergistic effects must be justified.
