ENCLOSURE 040.0 PCWER SYSTEMS BRANCH 040.111 It is not clear from the information provided in the FSAR that your design of diesel generator "0", which is shared between Units I cnd 2, is in confornance with Position 2 of Regulatory Guide 1.81.
Therefore, provide the following additional information:
(1) Provide a detailed description of the actuation logic for the shared diesel generator.
Specifically address a false or spurious accident signal in one unit occuring, followed by the accident signal in the other unit, assuming loss of offsite power.
(2) Describe how complete information regarding the status of the shared diesel generator is provided for each unit operator.
(3) Describe how the interaction between the two units' engineered safety feature electric circuits is limited such that any allowable ccmbi-nation of maintenance and test operations in the units will not preclude the capability to automatically sucply pcwer to minimum ESF Icad to either unit, assuming loss of offsite pcwe.
(4) Discuss how the coordination required between the unit operators in order to accomplish item (3) above is minimized; define any cnordi-nation required for meeting item (3) or for any cther reascn.

Identify each auxiliary system associated with and requirec for the operation of the shared diesel generator and describe how and when these systems are powered from Unit 1 and/or Unit 2.
040.117 In your discussion of Regulatory Guide 1.108 presented in Appendix "B" of the FSAR, you state that the demonstrat:on test program of position C.2.a will not be repeated every 18 months (3s required by the regulatory guide), nor do you give an alternative for a scheduler test program.
This is unacceptable.
In addition, you do not discuss positions C.1, C.2.d, C.2.e, and C.3 of this guice.
Please provide a conmitment to meet these positions as well as C.2.a or ;,rovide alternatives for our review.
