Vermont Yankee operated at 99.0% of rated thermal power for the month of May, 1979. Gross electrical generation for the month was 393,080 MWHe.

The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month:

5-1 At the beginning of the report period, the plant was operating at 99% of rated thermal power.

5-13 Closed Cycle operation commenced at 0145 hours0.00168 days <br />0.0403 hours <br />2.397487e-4 weeks <br />5.51725e-5 months <br />.

5-25 'B' Recire. Pump tripped at 1425 hours0.0165 days <br />0.396 hours <br />0.00236 weeks <br />5.422125e-4 months <br /> following a malfunction of a MC Set Lube Oil Pump starter.

'A' Recire. Pump was reduced to 50% speed and power was reduced to 45%.

Recire. MG Set was restored at 1840 hours0.0213 days <br />0.511 hours <br />0.00304 weeks <br />7.0012e-4 months <br />.
