Inspection Summary

Inspection on February 5-9, 1979 (Report No. 50-266/79-02; 50-301/79-01)

Areas Inspected: Routine, unannounced physical protection inspection

regarding: (a) action taken to correct previous inspection findings;

(b) applicable procedural aspects of 10 CFR 73.55 which became effective

May 25, 1977; (c) the approved security plan, submitted and approved

in accordance with 10 CFR 50.34(c) and required implementing procedures;

(d) installation activities relative to full implementation of 10 CFR 73.55; and (e) action taken relative to IE Circular 78-17.

Specifically,

the inspectors reviewed areas relative to security organization, access

controls, physical barriers, response requirements, testing and maintenance

of security equipment, communications controls and record requirements

(10 CFR 73.70). The inspection involved 74 inspector hours onsite by two

inspectors.

Results: Of the seven areas specifically inspected, two apparent

items of noncompliance were identified in two areas (Security organization -

Paragraph 3; Access controls - Paragraph 4) Both items are considered

infractions.

( Note: One item, access controls, was corrected prior

to the conclusion of the inspection.) The previous inspection findings

were corrected and are considered closed.
