Subject:
Confirmation on Outstanding Fire Protection Issues In response to recent telephone conversations, Yankee Atomic Electric Company proposes the following actions:
1.
A means of detecting fires in the containment is under investigation.
The results of this investigation will be provided to the NRC for their review.
2.
An additional twelve portable extinguishers will be provided in the containment.
3 The modifications to the turbine building sprinklers will include protection of fire hazards below the switchgear room.

Protection will be provided for the exposed structural steel in the diesel generator rooms or the proposed manual dry pipe sprinkler system will be changed to an automatic activated systen.
5.
Early warning fire detection will be provided in the area of the cable risers along the south wall above the false ceiling in the control room.
