Dear Mr. Reid:
In your letter to Florida Power Corporation, dated November 23, 15/9, you requested information to alleviate your concern regarding control rod guide tube wear at Crystal River Unit 3.
On December 20, 1979, we attended a meeting in your offices at which time a program to investigate control rod guide tube wear was presented.
Additionally, some preliminary results from measurements taken at Oconee Nuclear Station were presented. At that time, you indicated that suc-cessful completion of this program with no significant findings would satisfy your concerns.
Florida Power Corporation is participating in this program. After all measurements are completed at Oconee and Rancho Seco, a final report will be prepared and submitted to you. We plan to reference this report as justification to satisfy your concerns and allow restart of Crystal River Unit 3 following the planned refueling outage this spring.
