Turnpike Road (Rt. 9)

Westboro, Massachusetts 01581 Gentlemen:

We have received a copy of your application (Proposed Change No. 73-1) dated December 5,1979 which you filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulatien (OMRR) for review and approval. The application proposed changes to the Technical Specifications for the Maine Yankee plant (License No. DPR-36) relating to the reload for Cycle 5 operations.

It is our understanding that the ONRR review staff advised your Company that the referenced Class III fee of 34,000 was not received with your application.

Based on guidance frem the CNRR staff as a result of their preliminary review of your application, we have determined that the requested action requires review of a complex issue. As such, a Class IV fee of $12.300 is required rather than a Class III fee.

It is requested that the $12,300 be forwarded to this office promptly. If the final review of your application by the ONRR staff reveals that this fee is incorrect, you will be refunded any overpay. Tent or billed for any additional amount due.

Sincerely,

...-,.- u 37.a n.4 y.. 41Ehi@_:"..M n;ritg
