At a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors for Hanover County held in the Beardroom of the Henry Taylor Wickhar Building on the 28th day of November, 1979.

Cwen WHEREAS, che Nuclear Regulatory Commission has announced a general licensing moratorium on nuclear power units, and WHEREAS,the Virginia Electric and Power Company's North Anna 2 nuclear power unit has been completed since June, 1979, in compliance with NRC standards, and WHEREAS, North Anna I has operated successfully with no events to endanger life or property, and WHEREAS, Hanover County is a neighbor to and down-stream on the North Anna River from the VEPCO nuclear facilities in Louisa County, and WHEREAS, the delay of licensing North Anna 2 is reportedly costing VEPC0 customers S13 million per month,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVLD on motion of Mrs. Peace, seconded by Dr. Evans, this Board hereby supports the licensing of North Anna 2 and directs the County Administrator to communicate this support to the appropriate authorities.

Upon a vote being taken:

Mr. Nuckols voted Aye Mrs. Peace Aye Mr. Woods Aye Dr. Evans Aye Mr. West Aye Mr. Duke was not present for the vote.
