Dear SL. Seyfrit:
This is to provide an update en the status of the inspections required by IE Bulletin 79-lh and as stated in our letter dated Nove=ber 9, 1979 This status repert was provided verbally to your staff on December 5, 1979 All inspections and analyses required by IE Sulletin 79-lh have been ec=pleted for accessible areas, with the exception of four de-ficiency reports for piping in the auxiliary building.
This piping is installed in trenches which are covered by removable concrete covers.
These supports have been reviewed by Gilbert-Cct=cnvealth and District engineers and, in their opinion, are satisfactory as installed.
Ecv-ever, the cc=puter analyses have not been ec=pleted as of this date. It will be necessary to remove the concrete covers frca the trenches containing the piping in order to perform additional inspections and obtain information required to complete the computer modeling for these analyses.
It is undesirable to recove these concrete covers at this time due to an interference with the receipt of new fuel and subsequent fuel handling, which is scheduled to begin on December 7, 1979 Due to this interference and the confirmed engineering judgement that the existing supports are satisfactory, we request that we be allowed to defer these analyses until after the receipt of the new fuel.
It is anticipated that these analyses will be ec=pleted by December 31, 1979 Sincerely, 1935 149
