This office has received a copy of your November 2,1979 (AEP:NRC:00297) application recaesting seven changes to the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2 hppendix "A" Technical Specifications which you filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (0NRR) for review and approval.

Your request was accompanied by a Class III ($4,000) amendment fee for Unit 2 and a Class I ($400) amendment fee for Unit 1.

Based on guidance from the ONRR staff as a result oi their preliminary review of your application, your request has been categorized for fee purposes as follows:

Proposed Changes-Fee Classification Amendment Fee Due Change 1 - Involves a single Class III

$4,000 safety issue relating to the Reactor Trip System Instrumentation and Trip Setpoints and DNB Parameters for Unit 2.

Change 2 - Relates to the None ongoing ECCS review and is in response to a Commission Order for Unit 2.

Changes 3, 4 & 5 - These changes Class III

$4,000 involve a single safety issue involving radial peaking factors for Unit 2.

Since the changes relate to one another they have been comoined for fee classi-ication purposes.

Indiana & Michigan Power JAN 18 1980 Company Change 6 - Relates to the ongoing None Refueling Waste Storage Tank effects review for Unit 1 which we understand was submitted prior to 3/23/78, the effective date of the revised fee schedule requiring amendment fees.

E Change 7 - Involves a single Class III & I safety issue relating to the single rod drop problem for Units 1 & 2.

Total Due

$8,000 Total Paid 4,400 Amount Outstanding $3,600 Based on the changes listed above for which fees are currently due, please forward an additional $3,600 promptly to this office.

If after the final evaluation of your application is completed it is determined that it was incorrectly classified, you will be refunded any overpayment or billed for any additional amount due.
