Dear Mr. Ippolito:

In a telephone conversation on January 16, 1980, Mr. J. N. Hannon of your staff requested that Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) provide a written commitment to NRC to either complete the installation of the T-quencher modifications during the String, 1980, refueling outages or to provide additional analyses. This letter is to inform you that CP&L will install the T-quencher modifications during the refueling outages for both Brunswick units in the Spring of 1980. Therefore, it is our understanding that no further analyses are required by your staff with regard to our LER 1-79-107.

Yours very truly, d.14 E. E. Utley i
