Dear Ms. Cyphert:

I am writing to eliminate any confusion you might have concerning the appropriate due date for the enclosed interrogatories.

The Third Set of Interrogatories and Requests for Production of Documents from Houston Lighting

& Power Company to Antitrust Division, U.S.

Department of Justice was hand-delivered to you on December 18, 1979.

Accordingly, the five additional days in which to reply for service by mail is not applicable.

Answers to interrogatories are therefore due on January 2,

1980, and documents should be produced by January 17, 1980.

Houston requires your prompt response to the interroga-tories so that it may conduct additional discovery, if needed, within the Board's revised discovery period.

However, if you feel the above schedule is impossible to satisfy, we will be happy to discuss an appropriate period for an extension of time.
