7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COEISSION DOCKET NO. 50-324 CAROLINA POWER AND LIGHT COMPA'iY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Coninission (the Conmission) has issued Amendment No. 49 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-62, issued to Carolina Power and Light Company (the licensee) for operation of the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit No. 2 (the facisity), located in Brunswick, North Carolina. The amendment is effective as of the date of issuance.
The amendment revises the Technical Specifications to provide corrected

Minimum Critical Power Ratio (MCPR) Limits for the latter part of Cycle 3.
The application for the am'endment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.
Prior public notice of the amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
The Commission has detemined that the issuance of the amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Section 51.5(d)(4) an environmental impact state.ent or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of the amendment.
