Dear Sir:
Subject:
Water Hatter Reference (E) was submitted in response to your letter Reference (B) regarding steam geneaator water ha==er.
Discussions with NRC staff requesting additicnal informatien has prompted us to submit' this clardfication letter.
The intent of our response was to state that the plant has not experienced water ha=er since the 1966 =cdification. TP.s was & cribed to the Ccemissicn in previous letters, References (C) and (D).
In response to Question 5 of Reference (3) we stated that "...There have been relatively few and weak nhr ha=cer occurences".
The term
" water hammer" in this respense was morly chosen and incorrect. What we intended to say was that the plant does experience occaticnal noises which are minor in nature and would be considered typic;.1 of any power plant whether nuclear er fossil.
We trust this clarificatien adequately addresses yo ar concerns; however, if you should desire additional information, please centact. us.
Very truly yours,
\\
