NRC Earthquake Reconnaissance Team

RECONNAISSANCE REPORTS - IMPERIAL VALLEY EARTHQUAKE -
OCTCBER 15, 1979 An NRC Staff Earthquake Reconnaissance Team visited the Imperial Val'ey, California between October 17-19, 1979 to survey damage and collect seismological data from the October 15, 1979 earthquake. The below signed individuals participated.
Enclosed please find four reports which collectively summarize the teams activities and observations. Manpower and time constraints have made it impossible to organize these under one cover. However, for the most part, each of these reports address different observations and subject matter since the team split up to afford better coverage of the area.
The overall effort was extremely valuable to the team and further benefit from this activity is anticipated as incoming data is s'udied. Future updates will be made as appropriate so that others may benefit from this activity. The Reconnaissance Team members welcome the opportunity to present observations and personal findings to the NRC community. Please advise u of an appropriate time for this presentation.
