APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION United Nuclear Corporation Docket No.70-820 Wood River Junction, Rhode Island License No. SNM-777 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted on February 12-15, 1979, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with NRC regulations and the conditions of your NRC License No. SNM-777 as indicated below.
This item is an infraction.
10 CFR 70.24(a)(2), Criticality accident requirements, requires, in part, that the monitoring devices in the criticality monitoring system shall have a preset alarm point of not less than 5 millirem per hour (in order to avoid 'alse alarms) nor more than 20 millirem per hour.
Contrary to the above, on February 12, 1979, three monitoring devices in your criticality monitoring system had a preset alarm point of 30 millirem per hour.
