Cherokee Nuclear Station Identification of Deficiency: Recall of pipe fittings Description of Deficiency:
Tube Turns Division, Louisville, Kentucky advised Duke Power Company that welding fittings bearing tot Number W6719 contained erroneously identified high carbon steel material.
Analysis of Safety Imolications:
Cracks will occur when high carbon material is welded; however, it is possible that cracks would go undetected.
Corrective Action:
All material was shipped from Cherokee to Tube Turns on April 12, 1979.
