(a) Packaging (1) Model Nos.: 680 and 680E (2) Descriptinn A steel encased, uranium shielded Gamma Ray Projector.
Primary components consists of an outer steel shell, internal bracing, i
polyurethane potting material, depleted uranium shield, and a zircalloy "S" tube. The contents are securely positioned in the zircalloy "S" tube oy a source cable locking device and shipping plug.
Taxper-prcof seals are provided on the packaging and a 1/4-incn thick steel snipping plate is bolted over tne source locking m3cnanism for additional proteccion during transport.
The total weignt of the package is approximately 405 pounds.

The source shall be secured in the shielded position of the packaging by the shipping plug, source assembly, and locking device.
The snipping plug, source assembly used must be fabricated of materials cgpable of resisting a 1475 F fire environment for one-nalf hour and maintaining their positioning function. The ball step of tne source assembly must engage :ne locking device. Tne flexible cable of *.he source assembly and shipping plug must be of sufficient length and diar.eter to provide positive positioning of the source in the snielded position.

The naneplates shall be fabricated of materials :apable of resisting the fire test of 10 CFR Part 71 and maintaining their legibility.

The package authorized by this certificate is he eby approved for use under the general license provisions of 10 CFR 571.12( }).
