(a) NRC letter dated 1/2/80 from H. R. Denton to A. E. Lundvall, Jr., same subject.
Dear Mr. Denton:
Reference (a) forwarded to us your Show Cause Order of January 2, 1980, which requires that we implement all " Category A" Items of NUREG-0578 and its amplifying letters by January 31, 1980, except f:r.1ustifiable schedule-related items, or Calvert Cliffs will be shut down.
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company intends to have all short term " Category A" items completed in Calvert Cliffs Unit No. 2 by January 31, 1980, with the exception of certain specific changes which cannot be accomplished due to equipment delivery schedules.
Calvert Cliffs Unit No.
1 vill be shut down by January 31, 1980 for completion of " Category A" items for which equipment is available. Equipment delivery exceptions have all previously been discussed with your staff, most recently on January 7 and 22.
We Intend to have this equipment installed in both units within 30 days of receipt. The equipment delivery exceptions are listed on Attachment I.
