On J me 9,1977, the Nuclear Regulatory Cormission anncunced by press release its plans for public neetings to discuss a new 10 CFR Part 21 to its rules and regulatic s entitled, "Repcrting of Defccts and Scacompliance." Accordingly, we are scheduling a ceries of meetings near cur Regional Offices for the purpcse of explaining hew the new recuirerants will apply to nuclear activities covered by the risle.
Ycu are cordially invited to send one or more representatives to par-ticipate in the July 21, 1977 necting hosted by this Office.
Further details regarding the meetings and the requirements of the rule may he found in the enclosures. This material includes a copy of the press release announcing the n.cetings, a copy of 10 CFR rarc 21 and an information sheet. The informatien sheet is provided to advise you cf the specific details of the caetings, to assist you in selectinc your representative (s) in the appropriate areas of interest and in formulating any questiens ycu may have en the rule.
