Subject:

Radioactive Release at North Anna Unit 1 and Lessons Learned Reference (c) requested that in conjunction with our response to section 2.1.6a of NUREG 0578, as required by references (b) and (d), that certain other information be provided.

It was requested that a description of those modifications deemed necessary as a result of our review of the release incident which occurred at North Anna Unit 1 and a schedule for the completion of those modifications be provided in our response.

As a result of subsequent discussions and agreements with members of your staff, Maine Yankee has submitted in reference (e) a commitment to implement all Category A Lessons Learned items prior to the return to power operation following the refueling shutdown period which will commence on January 11, 1980.

The information requested in reference (c) will therefore be provided in accordance with the schedule described above, as part of our response to item 2.1.6a.
