Dear Mr. Charnoff:
I have been informed of your willingness to serve as a member of the Screening Committee for Lawyer Vacancies on the Licensing Board Panel.
As you know, the Comittee will serve an important role in providing recomendations to the Commission with respect to filling vacancies on the Panel from which individual Atomic Safety and Licens-ing Boards are selected.
Accordingly, the Commission is pleased to offer you an appointment to the Screening Comittee for Lawyer Vacancies on the Licensing Board Panel for a two-year term to begin January 1,1980.
Upon your acceptance of this position, and the completion of contractual arrangements, a letter of appointment will be sent to you.
I recognize that service on the Committee will involve some sacri-fices on your part. We aopreciate your willingness to give your time and energies to an dffort which is most essential to the further progress of the Commission's adjudicatory program.
