ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR AUDIT CALCULATIONS The NRC staff's evaluation (documented in the forthcoming NUREG-0611) of the Westinghouse small-break LOCA analyses presented in WCAP-9600, " Report on Small Break Accident for Westinghouse NSSS System," contains a discussion about audit calculations.
In that discussion, we have identified the physi-cal difference between the plants modeled as a major difference between our analyses and those performed by Westinghouse.
In order to further verify this conclusion, we intend to perform a number of sensitivity studies.
.Before we can perform these sensitivity studies, however, we require infor-mation regarding the geometry of the upper head region of the reactor vessel as used in the analysis of a 4-inch diameter cold leg break in a 4-loop PWR reported in WCAP-9600.
Specifically, for the flow path between the volume representing the core / upper plenum and the upper head, we request that you provide the following information:
(1) Flow area in square feet.
(2) Flow path inertia (L/A) in feet / square feet.
(3) Geometric loss terms for both forward flow and reverse flow.
(4) Pressure drop at steady state conditions in pounds per square inch.
(5) Flow rate at steady state conditions in pounds mass per second.
