OJJ_D - August 13,, ^1979 g gggg.g.g_g. - . ~ ~ EN- $ d8 ~~~ NOTIFICATION OF SIGNIFICANT ENFORCEMENT ACTION Licensee: Virginia Electri'c and Power Company Post Office Box 26666 Richmond, Virginia 23261 Docket No. 50-281 (License No. OPR-37) Subiect: PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF CIVIL PENALTIES - 315,000.00 This'is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and Notice of Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) will be issued t-Virginia Electric and Power Company on or about August 15, 1979. This action is based on six items of noncompliance with NRC regulations and/or license conditions. Five items o' noncompliance involved reporting requirements. Items of noncompliance associated with the radiation protection program included: employee overexposure in excess of 10 CFR 20 limits; failure of employee to follow technical specifications and procedures in relation to entering high radiation area; and failure to make written notification in required time. A news release is being prepared and will be issued at the time the licensee receives the notice. The Commonwealth of Virginia will be notified. The licensee has not yet been specifically informed of this enforcement action.
