Thank you for your final report dated September 21, 1979, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(<;) regarding defects in ventilation stack. Relative to your report please submit additional information addressing the following issues.
1.
'fou indicate in section V page 9 of your report that "The stack and its ring girder are presently capable of withstanding the 90 FTH design basis wind using the conditions listed above.
." Did you consider the fail-ure initiation capability represented by the " notches" associated with the known cracking and other anomalies in this analysis?
2.
What measures will be taken to preclude or mitigate the propagation of the known cracking and other anomalies during the proposed repair?
3.
Please demonstrate or indicate that th new reactor fuel presently main-tained in the fuel storage vaults would not be jeopardized if the vent stack failed and impacted on or near these or other safety related structures.
