Dear Mr. Parris:
Reference is mada to your letter of June 29,1979 (TVA BFNP TS 123) in which you reyuuned various changes to the Browns Ferry Technica S;.ecifications. One of the requested changes was to chcnge the Main Steam Line Radiation Monitor (MSLRM) setpoints from 1.5X and 3X background to 3X and 6X background. Part of the justification given was to avoid spurious alarms and trips from normal activity fluctuations.
To complete our evaluation, we request the following information:
(1) a list of trips and spurious alarms by the MSLRM for a two-year period, including the date of occurrence for the most recent one; (2) iodine level in primary coolant prior to and following the event; (3) offgas level prior to and following the event; and (4) power hist;ry for 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> prior and up to the alarm or trip.
