Descriotion of Violations Metropolitan Edison Company Docket No. 50-289 License No. CPPR-40 Certain activities under your license appear to be in violation of AEC requirements.
These apparent violations are considered to be h
of Category II severity.
I ASTM Specification A-351, Paragraphs 6 and 7, and Table 1 state in part,
"... analysis of each heat of steel shall be made by the manufacturer to determine the percentage of the elements (except residual elements) specified in 6.
...The steel shall conform to the requirements as to chemical composition prescribed in Table 1."
Contrary to the above, as identified.during the GPU Service Corporations' Vendor audit, the vendor did not analyze for the elements sulfur and phosphorus as prescribed by Table 1, ASTM Specification A-351.
This matter has been repcrted to the AEC as required by 10 CFR 50.55(e).
