FACILITY:

Carolina Power and Light Company Brunswick, Unit Nos. I and 2 Docket Nos. 50-325 and 50-324 Southport, North Carolina

SUBJECT:

PROBLEM IN REANALYSIS OF PIPING STRESSES The licensee reported on Jurb 22 that three points of potential overstress condition had been identified during a reanalysis of piping stress for motor operator eccentricity.

The overstress points are located on the one-half inch reactor head vent bypass pipes on Units I and 2 and a one-inch drain pipe in the high pressure coolant injection system on Unit 2.

The stresses at these points reportedly are above code allowable but below maximum yield.

Unit 1 is operating at 100 percent power; Unit 2 is operating at 64 percent power.
