OUTAGE ELTENDED BY REACTOR COOLANT PUMP SEAL PROBLEMS Plant startup has been delayed at least two weeks due to problems with reactor coolant pu_p seals that were replaced during the current refueling outage.
"reliminary information indicates that two of three seals en three reretor coolant pumps are not functioning properly.
The licensee plans to remove the seals and effect repair onsite.
The licensee estimates that plant startup will be delayed until at least July 26.
Local media interest is anticipated.
The licensee is issuing a news release.
A news release bylthe NRC is not planned.
The State of Florida has been informed.
Region II (Atlanta) received notification of this information by telephone from the onsite inspector at 9:40 a.m. on July 12.
