This refers to the discussion between yourself and other members of your organization and Mr. Fiorelli and others of this office on May 11, 1979, regarding construction practices at Wm. H. Zicmer Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1.
With regard to certain construction practices discussed, we understand that you will discontinue con-struction on the suppression pool modification adding the safety relief valve quencher dis'c'harge devic ~es"and n'o't resume activities until the following actions of this Immediate Action Letter have been fulfilled.

Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company will conduct a compre-

hensive audit in accordance with 10 CFR 50, Appendix B and ASME Section III, NA 4000, to establish the status of con-formance with required codes, specifications and procedures.
This audit activity will include review of procedures and records which may already be in use.
2.
Where the audit determines that work already completed does not conform to required codes, specifications and procedures, action will be taken to sqrrect_the deficiencies and preclude t h e i r _r.g qur ren c e.
The corrective actions will include the items identified by our inspector during an inspection con-ducted the week of May 7, 1979. This audit and the corrective actions will be documented so that they can be readily reviewed.

This office will be notified periodically of the progress of your ef fort so our inspector can obsee.;'e and evaluate the effectiveness of your review and corrective actions.

Work may not continue on those i tenis that have identified deficiencies until the tinm that such deficiencies are resolved in accordance with project procedures.
