SUBJECT:
STAFF VIEWS ON RESULTS OF SURVEY OF USES OF WASH-1400 Enclosed are the results as of January 4,1979, of my request for staff comments on the " Survey of Uses of WASH-1400" (Enclosure 2 to SECY-78-637).
It includes:
- a response with two views from RES personnel (Enclosure 1);
- an anonymous comment from NMSS (Enclosure 2) complaining about time to recpond.
(Note - A general extension of time to January 9,1979, was granted on December 28, 1978.
Additional reasonable time extensions will also be granted as necessary to get a complete survey.);
NRR believes that their original submittal addressed the issues and is therefore not soliciting additional staff comments.
NRR has begun the process of notifying the hearing boards of the results of their original survey.
The results from this latest review will also be made available to the boards.
The survey is continuing in other staff offices.
I will forward additional survey results next week and others, if received, at later dates.
