Dear Sir:

Subject:

Response to I&E Bulletin 79-18 Although the Yankee Rowe Plant was operating at the time the subject Bulletin was received, the necessary surveys could not be completed prior to the plant shutting down for a scheduled outage on September 8, 1979.

Since the plant must be at power to achieve the " maximum anticipated noise level" required by this Bulletin, the necessary surveys shall be completed following a return to power.

In accordance with item #3 of the subject Bulletin, within 30 days of startup following this outage, a written report shall be submitted, detail-ing the findings of these surveys and delineating the completed or proposed corrective actions.

Should any further information be required, please feel free to contact us.

Very truly yours, YANKEE ATOMIC ELECTRIC COMPANY
