USE OF US CORPS OF ENGINEERS FOR GE0 TECHNICAL REVIEW FOR OPERATING LICENSES FOR MIDLAND PLANT The NRC staff has enlisted the support of the U.S. Corps of Engineers to complete the geotechnical review of the application for operating licenses for Midland Plant, Units 1 and 2.
Accordingly we request that the Corps receive copies of all future corres-pondence related to Midland geotechnical matters, including related struct-ural effects, remedial actions and quality assurance aspects. This request includes all FSAR revisions after Revision 23.
(Copies of the Midland FSAR and revisions through Revision 23 have already been furnished the Corps by Bechtel, Ann Arbor). This request also includes future correspondence on related 50.55(e) reports and 50.54(f) replies relative to the Midland back-fill settlement matter and related hearing correspondence.
By copy of this letter, we are also requesting our Office of Inspection and Enforcement, Region III to include the Corps for distribution of related future ISE initiated documents.
