SUBJECT:
REVISED RESPONSE TO 'RIENDS OF THE EARTH LETTER ON NRC's POL'.CY STATEMENT ON WASH-1400 On July 16, 1979 OGC circulated to the Comission a proposed revised response to the Friends of the Earth letter of March 8,1979 regarding the effect of WASH-1400 on current environmental impact statements.
We hav.e subsequently observed that the response fails to mention the pertinent fact that the construction permit application for the primary facility at issue, Greene County, has been withdrawn.
We have prepared a further revision which notes this fact and also incorporates some additional language changes to clarify the present rationale for omitting a detailed discussion of Class 9 accidents from power reactor impact statements.
We ask for Commission comments on the latest revised response by c.o.b.
