ENCLOSURE RE0l> DST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TROJAN NUCLEAR PLANT DOCKET NO. 50-344 DEGRADED GRID V0LTAGE GENERIC ISSUE Based on our review of your submittal dated July 19, 1977, we have concluded that your basis for not proposing a design modification to your plant electrical power distribution system undervoltage protection is not acceptable. You state that compliance with our positions contained in our letter of June 3,1977 could place the plant in a degraded condition and is contrary to Regulator.y Guide 1.93. This document deals with operational restrictions based or loss of power sources, not design requirements; it is GDC 17 that specifies design requirements. Your basis, therefore, does not appetr to be relevant. In view of the above, we request that you propose design modifications and changes to the Technical Specification based on the staff positions contained in our June 3,1977 letter. 2 232 4}}
