SUBJECT:
EVAPORATOR PROJECT In response to your July 19, 1979 memorandum subj ect as above, we submit the following comments.
From 'the discussione in the memorandum, it appears that GPU has decided to proceed with the design, and construction of a forced circulation evaporator system at TMI-2.
In view of this commit-ment, the NRC staff would like to have a copy of the design criteria for the evaporator and the structure housing this equipment, including the solidification system noted in your memo. We would also like to know when you propose to submit a Safety Analysis Report and Environ-mental Report for this system.
Your early input will enable the staff to evaluate the proposed system and prepare an Environmental Assessment.
