amendment to Facility License DPR-50 which you filed with the Office of l
Nuclear Reactor Regulation. The application is identified as Change Request No. 77 and relates to Ring Girder Surveillance Test for Three i
M"1 Island Unit No.1.
In your application you stated that no license I,
amendment fee was required because the request was initiated in response to an NRC staff request dated December 29, 1977.
The last sentence of Footnote 2 of Section 170.22 exempts Class I, II, or III type amendments which result from a written Comission request pro-vided (1) the requested amendments are to simplify or clarify the license or technical specifications, (2) the amendments have only minor safety significance, and (3) they are being issued for the convenience of the Connission. Although the above application was precipitated by Connission request and is administrative in nature and has no significant safety or en'ironmental impact, it is not being considered for the convenience of the Cor.nission nor is it to simplify or clarify the TMI-l Technical Specifi-cations. On this basis, it is not exempt from fees under the providion of Footnote 2.
It is requested, therefore, that you promptly forward a l
Class II amendment fee of $1,200 to this office.
If after the final evalua-l tion of your application is completed it is determined that it was l
incorrectly classified, you will be notified.
